Personally, I love the Memos application on the Palm OS. You can use MemoPad on the Blackberry or Pocket Word on Windows Mobile devices. Memos for the Palm OS is a simple text editor that allows you to enter short notes, about 4000 characters. In fact, I have over 500 memos on my PDA and most were entered by hand. Why is it so powerful? For one, it's fast. And, that makes a big difference in boosting your productivity. You can create a memo by simply starting to write or type. The first line will become the name of the memo and can easily be edited later. There are limited format options, so there's not much to think about. For sales professionals, memos are great to use at events. Create a single memo for the event and then jot notes throughout the event. Whenever you have a spare moment, make a note. Be sure to enter a person's name and brief comment. Then, later, you can perform a brain dump and expand on your notes. The key is to be sure to move those individual comments to the appropriate contact record after you've had a chance to enter new contacts in your PDA or contact management software. Rick S.
