Synchronizing Every Day Keeps the PDA Doctor Away
You've just entered five new contacts and three appointments into your PDA. Suddenly, it crashes and you lose all of that information. Ouch, that hurts. But, it could be worse. Synchronizing is critical to keeping your PDA and computer in sync. If you don't synchronize often, you might lose even more. Synchronize whenever you can. While most PDAs are very stable, they can crash at any time. Synchronize whenever you leave your computer and as soon as you return.

Six Ways Your PDA Can Make Money
Ah, money. It's the great motivator. How can you get more of it? Well, your PDA can help. Here are six ways you can use your PDA to make more money.
1. Use your PDA to keep in touch with clients to remind them it's time to order your products or services. Simple contact management will allow you to prioritize customer contact.
2. Get more done in less time by being more productive. Saving time means saving money. And money saved is as good as money earned. Most people waste a lot of time trying to remember whom they're supposed to meet, where they're supposed to go, etc. Your PDA can help you stay organized and efficient.
3. Develop the next big idea for your business. The next time you have a business brainstorm, make a note in your PDA. Write as much as you can remember. Then, when you have time, mine these nuggets. Most people just let these million-dollar ideas slip away. A PDA gives you an easy way to capture those ideas and easily locate them later.
4. Demonstrate your products or services using your PDA. You can create a presentation to display on your PDA. If you run into someone in a hallway or at an event, you can give them a quick demo of your services.
5. Pass along valuable information to members of your business network by keeping track of people's interests. When someone says they would rather be sailing, make a note in their contact record. Then, when you come across a website about sailing, send an email with a link to the site. The person will be impressed you remembered.
6. Enter an order right through your PDA. There's no time like the present to buy. More and more businesses are implementing mobile technology solutions that enable sales reps to enter an order through a PDA. No delays from processing paperwork. It's quick and easy and everyone likes it.
It all boils down to working more productively to get more done in less time. You can use the power of the PDA to recall all of your commitments and demonstrate your integrity by following through. Don't underestimate the power of your mind to generate great ideas. Your PDA provides a useful mechanism for capturing those ideas and then acting on them.
Your PDA Can Be Your Best Motivator
If you're in sales, as we all are to some degree, you know that it's a constant challenge to stay motivated. Rejection is tough. Nobody wants to hear "no" over and over. If you run a small business, you are ultimately responsible for acquiring customers and generating sales revenues. At times, you can feel a little overwhelmed. So, how can your PDA help you stay motivated and move on to the next level?
First, a PDA can alleviate some of the stress you feel. Some people are constantly worried they forgot something and then spend a lot of time trying to remember a forgotten task or commitment. This is a waste of energy. If you capture every task or commitment when you agree to it, there is no issue. You know what needs to be done.
Great, we are no longer stressed out, now what? You can copy inspirational quotes or poems from the Internet and paste them into a memo. When you're feeling down, turn to that quote and read it. Voila, instant recovery. If you are spiritual, you can download the Bible as an eBook and read scripture when you need a boost.
If you have Internet access on your PDA, you can also bookmark a favorite website with inspirational quotes or phrases. Some sites have searchable quotes so you can search for an applicable quote for the moment.
Perhaps you are inspired by music. Some newer PDAs serve as an MP3 player. Download music that uplifts your soul and play it before you call on a client. Use headphones if necessary.
Your PDA is an extension of yourself and you should let it mirror your personality and style. Allow it to bring you up when you're feeling down.
